Meeting cost calculator
How much is this meeting costing?
Add the people, set the length, watch the money go. Or import a meeting straight from your Google Calendar.
See what your actual meetings cost. We read your next two weeks of events (read-only), right here in your browser. Nothing is sent to or stored on our servers. Privacy
Pick a meeting to load it into the calculator. Companies are guessed from email domains; adjust anyone's seniority afterwards.
How the meeting cost is worked out
Each attendee's hourly cost is their annual salary, plus employer on-costs like National Insurance, pension and a desk (roughly 30% on top), divided by about 1,650 working hours a year. Add everyone up and multiply by the length of the meeting.
Salaries are guessed from seniority (typed job titles like "Head of Marketing" are matched automatically) and nudged up or down by the kind of company: a big tech firm or an investment bank costs more per hour than a charity or a start-up. They are guesses, and every one is editable.
Is this accurate?
It's a ballpark. Real salaries vary hugely, and we don't look anyone up. It's accurate enough to make the point, which is usually "this could have been an email".
What happens to my calendar data?
If you use "Import from Google Calendar", your browser reads your events directly from Google with read-only access. Nothing is sent to or stored on our servers, and closing the tab or pressing Disconnect ends access. See our privacy notice.
Why does this exist?
Because Pointless Meeting offers meetings that are honest about being pointless, and at least those are free. Unless you go Premium, in which case it's £300 and he wears a hat.
Every meeting costs something. Ours costs nothing.
